Three Days of Northern Craft: Korhogo and Senufo Land

Abidjan ✈ Korhogo

A little over an hour's flight takes you from the lagoon city to the savannah. All three days are around Korhogo: weavers piecing strips into cloth, painters hand-painting animals on cotton, and blacksmiths smelting iron ore in clay furnaces.

Village des tisserands de Waraniéné
A few kilometres outside Korhogo, with the north's greatest concentration of looms. The craft is passed down by Dioula weavers working in cotton.

3　Fakaha painted-cloth village
Village des peintres de Fakaha
About 30 km away, the main source of toiles de Korhogo. The painters' workshops in Korhogo town were demolished for road works in early 2024, so it is best to go straight to the village.
